Chapter 1
"How's your vacation in Paris?" A man with casual attire speaks up to her.
She hadn't seen him for nearly 3 years and she was struck anew by his good looks. He had been an attractive youth, tall, rather ungainly, with a thatch of black hair.
A 20 years old girl brings along her luggage walking down from her own private jet. She got that common appearance but some people said that her face was the definition of beauty, with her cherry lips and rosy cheeks, she never failed to brighten someone's day.
All of that compliment? She assumes it a lie. Why? Well, it was obviously because of her family richness. Her family, Rustichel well-known as the top 3 most rich family in London.
"It's business, idiot." She shakes her head.
"I'll take that as a positive review from you. Now, "
That man reach out his hand to her and showing a very sincere smile.
"Let me escort you, Soleia."
"Pfft, isn't that exaggerated much? Don't make me laugh, El." Even so, she still takes his brother's hand and proceed to their private car.
She lifted her head to see out the window; what she saw, took her breath away. Since their house near the mountains, the ground below her was alive with lights, like someone had taken a handful of glitter and thrown it as far as the eye could see.
It was too dark to make out individual buildings, but the lights were enough for her. She sighed, amazed at the view laid out before her.
"How long has it been? 1 year?" She asked but her eyes still locked in the scenery.
"Sis, it's 3 years. You're not even close." He nagged. Well, it's not unusual for her since her brother loves her too much.
"Maybe I'm old. That's what it is." She agreeing.
"Hey, we're just two years gap. By the way, why did you always make me pick you up at night?"
"So what. London is quite a sight at night." She answered back.
"Suits yourself, Soleia. Before that, do you want to stop anywhere? Even though it still night, there still got a convenience store open for 24 hours." He suggested.
"Ah, that's right. I want to eat ramen. "
"You still like that huh. Mr. Hogan, can you stop by the convenience store nearby?"
"Sure." Mr. Hogan indeed a man with a few words.
★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
"Are you sure you can walk to that convenience store by yourself? You even asked Mr. Hogan to park far from there." His brother nagging like an old man.
"Of course, I'm afraid that people might notice us. I won't belong." Soleia said while getting off of the car.
SOLEIA POV
"Oh my, how long was it since I last came here?"
She looks around in an exciting feel. Maybe there's a lot of beautiful country out there but it's nothing compared to your own country, isn't it? A lot of maintenance has been done. Also, a new store that I never seen before.
Well, if it's not because of that dumb business I would rather just stay here and living my teenager's life peacefully just like my brother. He so lucky. Not gonna lie.
"Oh, I must hurr-"
I then feel someones trying to grab my hand and quickly throw me to the side of the road. I'm startled.
Shook.
Scared.
The only sound that filled my ears was the crushing of glass mixed with my heart thumping like crazy. My adrenaline didn't know how to stop working and pumping I guess. The moment the car hit the trees, I assumed I was dead.
"...iss"
"MISS!"
I finally regain consciousness again.
"Huh?" I'm confused. What happen just now?
"Are you okay? Can you walk?" That man asked me with his concerned words. I look at him.
"Ah, yes. I'm okay. How ab-"
"Miss, are you okay?!"
Suddenly there's some unfamiliar voice interrupting my words. I look at the source of the voice. It's a girl. She got that dark brown hair and hazel eyes. She looks really young. Much younger than me.
"Yes, I'm fine. How about the driver is he okay?" I asked as I trying to get rid of the dirt and dust that cover my blazer. The girl also helping me.
"The ambulance on their way and the driver also just covered with minor injuries. Don't worry." The man that saved me just now replied.
My eyes then focused on him.
He had the kind of face that stopped you in your tracks. I guess he must get used to that, the sudden pause in a person's natural expression when they looked his way followed by overcompensating with a nonchalant gaze and a smile. But still.
Not my type.
"Oh my. How should repay you guys kindness? I owe you my life." I said as I bowed to them.
"Miss, you don't need to bow to us. We just happen to help you." The girl rejecting my offer along with her nervous facial expression.
"How about I treat you dinner? Now. It's not that late yet. I don't want to owe anything." I said as I glanced on my watch.
"Well, if you insist convenience store is fine." The man said as he was appointed at the convenience store nearby. I look at the direction. It's not that bad. I don't want to owe them anything anyways.
"Sure."
★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
"Thank you for the meal, miss." The girl with dark brown hair thanks me while the man next to her standing there like a statue.
"Sure. I have fun talking to you guys. Then, I will go first." I replied as I took a step to get out of the convenience store but then someone grabs my hand which makes my step stop on its own.
I look back. This man.
"Is there anything else?"
"Shouldn't we introduce each other first?" He said while smiling. The girl at the back also nodded as she agrees with him. So cute.
I harshly take my hand back and look at them.
"You guys may be kind as well as my savior but I don't have any intention to make friends. It's useless since we are not going to meet again." I smiled.
"But we saved you. We just want to know at least your name that's all." The girl added.
"Don't make me repeat my words. Now please excuse me and thank you again." I said politely.
Cold. Am I cold? Well, yeah. It's not like I stay here longer.
★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
"Oops, is that the infamous 'play hard to get' thing?" The girl with the dark brown hair starts the conversation as soon as she left the store.
The man didn't answer but he still looks at her direction as she walking away from the store. After a few seconds, he chuckled. Couldn't control his laugh, he even produced tears from laughing too much.
"Ethan, you finally become insane after being rejected?" The girl with dark brown hair slowly walks away from him somehow feeling unsafe.
"Riley, aren't you too much?" Ethan shook his head disappointed with her.
"But she's indeed interesting."
